How to get around the Cyclades
Those wishing to reach the Cyclades should know that there are three international airports available: Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini, as well as national airports: Milos, Naxos, Paros, and Syros.
We recommend landing in Mykonos or Santorini and, for those not staying on these islands, taking a ferry to the chosen island.
For example, those wishing to go to Naxos or Paros should take a ferry from the port of Mykonos.
Those wishing to stay on Milos, Ios, or Folegandros should take a ferry from the port of Santorini.
Another option is to fly to Athens and then take a domestic flight to the Cyclades’ national airports.
The final option is to land in Athens, take a bus to the port of Piraeus, and from there board a ferry to the chosen island.
We’re not even considering one- or multi-day ferry trips, with multiple transfers, because Ulysses’s Odyssey is more than enough for us.
Finally, to travel between the various islands, simply consult the various ferry and hydrofoil websites and find the right connections.
Enjoy your trip! Contact us if you need further information.
Greece is a state of mind!
